We are delighted to invite you to join us on Tuesday, August 19, 2003, as we try to keep cool in the midst of "ANOTHER HOT AUGUST NIGHT" by presenting a cool selection of exciting wines and very special guests. Joining us will be SUSAN CANNON of SILVER OAK, CHRISTI GERLACH of CHATEAU MONTELENA, DENNIS FIFE, of FIFE VINEYARDS, PAUL YOUNG of ADELAIDA and GARY GIBSON of SHADOW CANYON.

We will begin the evening a little earlier than usual with a walk-around tasting of Rosé wines from Around the World. Rosés are becoming hot again and we will be sure to serve them nicely chilled for your tasting enjoyment. The sit-down portion of the evening will feature several hot new releases, including the long-awaited Silver Oak 1999 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

SILVER OAK is located in the Oakville area of Napa Valley and in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County. Known for over 30 years for producing outstanding and highly coveted Cabernet Sauvignons, Silver Oak's two gems have been dubbed "America's wines." We are delighted to welcome their lovely and knowledgeable Southern California Sales Director Susan Cannon to present their hot new release.

CHATEAU MONTELENA, located at the northern end of the Napa Valley in Calistoga, without a doubt is one of California's finest wineries producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignons, Chardonnays and Zinfandels. They first earned their reputation when their 1973 Chardonnay won the famed "1976 Paris Tasting" and they continue to merit the highest accolades. We are most pleased to welcome back our charming friend Christi Gerlach, their Los Angeles Regional Representative, to guide us through a tasting of three of their hotly appreciated wines.

FIFE VINEYARDS, with locations in both Napa Valley and Mendocino, was founded in 1991 by our long-time friend Dennis Fife. Dennis and his wife Karen Mac Neil Fife, a nationally featured wine lecturer and widely published food and wine writer, produce a hot array of outstanding red wines of many varieties. We're happy to have Dennis on hand this evening to elucidate on at least four of his latest exciting efforts.

ADELAIDA is located on the west side of the Central Coast's Paso Robles wine appellation, where the wild, rugged mountainside terrain yields intense, high-quality wines. The winery ascribes to the philosophy that fine wines are made first and foremost in the vineyard, starting with the very best grapes and bringing their juice through fermentation as naturally as possible. To give a more complete explanation of the winery and two of their hot new releases, we welcome Paul Young, Adelaida's personable Southern California Representative.

SHADOW CANYON is a new winery located on a mountaintop in the York Mountain appellation near Paso Robles, Owner/Winemaker Gary Gibson produces small lots of hand-crafted Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional quality that reflect the unique terroir of the area. We're so glad that Gary is able to join us to show his hot 2001 releases. We just learned that the October issue of Wine & Spirits magazine will feature their Syrah as one of the top ten of the year!
