Paso Robles is
the up and coming appellation in California.
Justin and
Deborah Baldwin knew that would eventually happen when they established their winery there in 1981. Committed to the concept of estate wines, the Bordeaux varietals that they produce have become sought-after the world around.
We have just received the current release of Justin 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and are delighted. Last year's release sold out so quickly that we barely had time to notice that it was on the shelf. We had a chance to sample the current wine during a visit to Justin in April and found it stunning. We sampled it again last week and could hardly believe that it tasted even better with just a few extra weeks in the bottle!
Winemaker notes:
"Our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark red with a crimson hue. Aromas of raspberry, bing cherry, mushroom, and an assortment of spice, vanilla and leather make up the nose. A soft, fruit forward entry is accented by a touch of vanilla. The mid palate balances acidity and structure to produce a velvety mouth feel found commonly in JUSTIN wines. The finish contains soft, yet prevalent tannins with hints of caramel, cedar and toasted oak."
