We have just tasted this beauty and found that it reminded us more of their fabulous 2004 vintage than the 2005. It is deep in color, long on aroma and big on taste, with lots of carefully masked tannins. An exuberant wine, it is a keeper, yet will probably be ready to drink in 6-12 months. Think of a big wine from the Stag's Leap appellation.

Coup de Foudre strives to bring back the romance of wine. Once again, the Stag's Leap AVA Cabernet Sauvignon was picked in perfect condition, vinified and then barrel aged for 18 months in a combination of Taransaud, Radoux and Gamba cooperage. They blended in 5% Syrah from Heidi Barrett's vineyard in the Santa Ynez appellation to further accentuate CdF's depth and spicy, fleshy flavors! Production remains very limited - a mere 500 cases for the planet.
