Both of them have received extremely high scores from Robert Parker.  Lucia 2007 Syrah, Garys' Vineyard was rated 95 points by Parker. It possesses a big, deep-purple color and is one of the very best wines in the store. The nose is more like a liqueur and the taste is absolutely out of this world, so we think it deserves an even higher score... the Duke staff scores it 100 points! Parker says: "The dense purple-colored 2007 Syrah Garys' Vineyard exhibits a gorgeous perfume of boysenberries, blueberries, blackberries, charcoal, camphor, and spring flowers. It reveals full-bodied power along with great elegance and freshness, good acidity, and super-rich fruit that is neither heavy nor overbearing. While it will not last as long as a great French Hermitage or Cote Rotie, it will offer sensational drinking over the next decade. . ." Duke's price - $39.99 per bottle...that's $239.94 a 6-pack. Lucia 2007 Syrah, Susan's Hill Vineyard was rated 96 points by Parker. It is similar to its sibling, but Parker says: " a notch better, the 2007 Syrah Pisoni Vineyard boasts a dense purple hue as well as a glorious perfume of acacia flowers, forest floor, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and charcoal, fabulous fruit, a full-bodied texture, and stunning purity as well as length. It should evolve easily for a decade. . . " The Duke is still flipping over the Lucia 2007 Pinot Noir, Garys' Vineyard. Robert Parker scored the wine 95 points and said: "The outrageously sumptuous, complex 2007 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is a compelling example of Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Sumptuous aromas of kirsch, black raspberries, fresh mushrooms, and forest floor are very Burgundian as well as intense. In the mouth, the wine is full and beautifully concentrated with silky tannins and a long finish. Drink this sensational Pinot over the next 5-8+ years. " We say... buy it before it is gone...you won't be sorry. . . Think of fine wine! Think of the Duke!
