Robert Simon, long-time friend of the
Duke, is the proud proprietor of one of Southern California's premier restaurants,
Bistro 45 in Pasadena. Each month, on a Monday evening, Robert hosts a dinner with wine pairings that takes a back seat to no other place around.
In August, Michael Lancaster, owner and wine maker of Tin Barn Winery in Sonoma, will bow and brace the Bistro with his prodigious portfolio of: 2006 Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc, 2005 Russian River Zinfandel, 2004 Meritage (60% Cab., 21% Merlot & 19% Cab. Franc), 2005 Sonoma Cabernet and 2004 Sonoma Coast Syrah. In addition to gold medals from the San Francisco Chronicle and great ratings from the Wine Spectator, the Bistro 45 tasting group gave each and every wine near-perfect ratings when they tasted them all with Michael before deciding to do this dinner. Chefs Damon, Keiji, Bryan, et. al., will feature five Sonoma-inspired courses perfectly paired to each of Michael's wonderful wines.
Dinner begins at 6:30PM on Monday, August 25, and costs $80.00 per individual, plus tax and gratuity.
A representative from the Duke will be there so you can purchase any of the wines you enjoy.
