The Duke of Bourbon is a family-operated retail wine and spirits enterprise established in 1967 in the West San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California. Specializing in personalized service, we offer a carefully selected collection of unique and rare California wines as well as a fine selection of French, Italian and other world-class wines. In 1990, the Duke of Bourbon was chosen as one of the top twelve wine shops in America by Wine Spectator's Market Watch Magazine. In addition, excellent articles were published in Market Watch, June 1997, Beverage Retailer, May/June 1998 and Los Angeles Daily News, December 25 1998.

July 24, 2008 (Thursday) The next Wine Association seminar. Featuring guests and wines from Carlson, Diamond Creek Vineyards, Jaffe Estate and Margerum Wine Company. A hot August night a few days early!
August 9, 2008 (Saturday) Jim Clendenen will be hosting an incredible wine dinner at his home, Rancho la Cuna. Each course will be prepared by a guest chef flown in from one of Chicago's finest restaurants especially for the evening. Jim sponsors the entire dinner so that all the proceeds will go to Direct Relief International. DRI provides appropriate ongoing medical assistance to health institutions and projects worldwide which serve the poor and victims of natural and civil disasters without regard to political affiliation, religious belief, ethnic identity or ability to pay. So far, vintners in the Santa Barbara area have raised over $1,000,000, which leveraged with Direct Relief's unique ability to stretch dollars donated, has furnished over $33 million in medical material aid provided to those in need. September 21, 2008 (Sunday) The New West Symphony presents its annual Symphony of Wine. This year's Maestro of Food and Wine is "long"-time friend of the Duke - Bob Long! Proceeds from the event support NWS's youth programs. More details will be announced in the coming weeks, but be sure to save the date.

Another event that is not to be missed!
Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - The Duke's annual Central Coast Futures Tasting will feature guests Jim Clendenen, Bob Lindquist and Frank Ostini and their respective wines. It might sound like we are "preaching to the choir," but you don't want to miss this event!

Thursday, November 8, 2007, is the date for something very special for lovers of Scotch whisky. We will be tasting some single cask, single malt whiskies that will knock your socks down around your ankles. Special note: This event will be held at a different venue than our other Wine Association events.
Tuesday, October 30, 2007 - George Taber, renowned author of Judgment of Paris and the soon-to-be released To Cork or Not to Cork, joins the Duke for the next in a series of seminars celebrating the Duke's 40 years in business. The Wine Association will present a seminar featuring an evening of excellent Drouhin Burgundies with very special guests Veronique Drouhin and her brother Laurent Drouhin who are making a rare visit to Los Angeles. They will lead us through an exciting futures tasting of 2004 Burgundies from Maison Joseph Drouhin, as well as a presentation of several wines from their beautiful Domain Drouhin Oregon property. Seating is limited for this event, so you are well-advised to respond promptly when we make the formal announcement.
