The Nose: Its aromas evoke the violet and the red or black fruit (raspberry, cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant) sometimes of cocoa, as well as its deep red color gives it finesse and seduction. An older wine will draw towards the undergrowth, the dead leaf, the truffle, mixing animal notes.
The mouth: The mouth is generally conciliating offering a good of terroir. It has solid shoulders, its tannins however delicate, its attack is frank. The fat and the acidity compose a harmony simple and beautiful, one notices occasionally a liquorice. The Vougeot 1er Cru is a racy wine with common points in Chambolle Musigny. The stony soil that allows good drainage makes it a fragrant, elegant wine.
