Molly Dooker 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Maitre D

Who Said Australian Shiraz is not for the Holiday Season?

2014 Molly Dooker Matre D Cabernet Sauvignon

Our Impressions:

Shiraz and Syrah have been diffentiated by the public while both words refers to the exact same varietal which origin comes from the Rhône region in France. There is no real reason for Australian winemakers to call their wine with a different name outside of some historic relationships between the two countries but who knows!

Sparky Marquis and Family started their Mollydooker winery based on best bang for the buck
Cabernets and Syrahs (Shiraz). Constantly scoring better than most wineries making comparable
wines at 2 to 3 times the price – I know this Cabernet will make your whole day, on sale at $25.99.

One of our favorite go-to wineries when looking to spend mid $20.00 for good quality wine that always satisfies the need for a nice nose of tasty black fruit with a smooth easy drinking light oaky flavor that goes with so many foods from Pizza to Pasta and Beef stew to Steaks

on the Barbie.

Tasty with giant holiday pork roasts or smoked meats! See the Duke to buy by the case!

Winery's Notes:

"This Cabernet Sauvignon is both complex and alluring upon first tasting its dark fruit
and fresh herbaceous qualities. Well balanced with dense forest fruits and fresh berries
evolving with the crispness of allspice. Its poised tannins create a wonderful support to
the wine while not distracting from its intriguing flavour. The grapes were grown on the
Joppich vineyard in Langhorne Creek and Mollydooker vineyards in McLaren Vale. Barrel
fermented and matured in 87% American and 13% French oak using 11% new, 71% one
year old and 18% two year old barrels. Alc: 15.5% Residual sugar: 3.4 g/L pH: 3.60 "
