♦ DIAMOND CREEK VINEYARDS was founded by Boots & Al Brounstein in 1968. Al passed away several years ago, but his son, PHIL ROSS, will be here to guide us through our annual Diamond Creek futures tasting with his great sense of humor and his developed knowledge of wines. Their gorgeous estate on Diamond Mountain in Calistoga is famous for its diverse soils and micro-climates. Their descriptive vineyards of Red Rock Terrace, Volcanic Hill and Gravelly Meadow produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignons. This year, we’ll headline their “three hot 2013 gems.”
♦ SANGUIS wines are produced in Santa Barbara from grapes grown in the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valleys by personable OWNER/WINEMAKER MATTHIAS PIPPIG. His winery has been compared to Sine Qua Non, but he insists that that is not the case and that there is only one Sanguis. We are delighted that Matthias will be joining us to show us some of the brilliant wines from his portfolio of which the 2012 Floral a blend of Chardonnay and Roussane which he states: "it is the best wine I ever made!"
