We just returned from our annual "Futures" tasting trip to the Au Bon Climat/Qupé Winery in Santa Maria, California, where we sampled the 1997 wines produced by stellar winemakers Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat, Bob Lindquist of Qupé, Frank Ostini of Hitching Post and Jim Adelman of Makor. These wines, which are scheduled to be released later this year, are extremely special and we are delighted to offer "futures" on many of them at a savings of up to 20%! We can assure you that although some of the wines may taste forward upon release, they definitely will age gracefully for many years to come. It is full of sweet fruit, very well-balanced and nice for early drinking.	Ici/La-Bas 1997 Pinot Noir "Mendocino" The grapes were grown in Mendocino County on the Elke Vineyard in the Anderson Valley and Jim is quite pleased with the wine from this new Northern California property. It is our sincere pleasure to announce our "Futures" offering for the Chateau Montelena 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon. This stunning wine from what is considered a truly great vintage is available, while our supply lasts, at a savings of at least 40% below the projected release price. We have tasted the wine and can assure you of its greatness. The winery describes it as "...the stuff of legends. The weather during harvest was great, if we could have ordered it ala Carte it could not have been better." Wine writer Robert Parker, Jr. comments, "It does appear to be a remarkable offering...should prove uncommonly accessible when released, but will easily last 20-30 years."

The tour will feature stays in the beautiful cities of Florence, Siena and Rada, as well as tours, tastings and meals with a variety of outstanding Chianti producers, plus participation at two first-rate cooking schools.
