To celebrate the birth last year of his daughter Isabelle, Au Bon Climat owner/winemaker Jim Clendenen has created a masterpiece of a Pinot Noir. This extremely limited, rare jewel was produced from just five barrels of his finest Pinot Noir in the greatest vintage to date (1994) at his world-renown winery. Included in the blend are: one barrel of Talley 'Rosemary' Pinot Noir, one barrel of Sanford and Benedict Pinot Noir and one barrel of Ici/La-Bas Oregon Pinot Noir. This magnificent creation is big, full, rich, deep, flavorful and balanced. We are thrilled to be able to offer it on Futures with a savings of 20%!

1993 Bordeaux -
Friendly, Accessible and Full of Personality
Some beautiful 1993 Bordeaux have begun to arrive! These wines are approachable enough for current consumption and certainly will live for a decade or two in proper cellars. We have a nice selection of the first arrivals. Notes from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator are included for your information.
Chateau Cos d'Estournel - Duke's Price $27.99
Robert Parker says: '...one of the most successful wines of the vintage. The saturated ruby/purple color is followed by a pure, sweet nose of black fruits (cherries and cassis), abundant notes of smoky new oak, and an intriguing floral component.'
Chateau Lynch-Bages - Duke's Price $27.99
Parker says: 'Wow! ...reveals a thick, opaque purple color. The initial subdued aromas of earth, subtle red and black fruits and oak require coaxing to unleash...muscle, richness, body and intensity...'
Chateau Pichon-Longueville-Baron - Duke's Price: $27.99
Parker says: '...displays an impressive, nearly opaque dark ruby/purple color. The pure, sweet nose of smoky wood, combined with ripe cassis fruit and spices is moderately intense...formidably tannic and structured, but also impressively extracted and rich.'
Chateau Leoville-Barton - Duke's Price: $27.99
Parker says: 'Best Leoville-Barton of the last three years. Medium to full-bodied, with excellent purity, a classic nose of cedar, cassis, spice and oak, and admirable concentration...beautifully balanced, rich, stylish...'
Chateau Latour - Duke's Price: $59.99
Wine Spectator says: 'Powerful and extremely balanced, a wine with guts and character, delivering seamless texture and mint, lead-pencil, currant, chocolate and slightly toasty character. Deep and full-bodied, yet the tannins are incredibly supple.'
Chateau Lafite-Rothschild - Duke's Price $59.99
Parker says: 'It offers Lafite's classic, intense, subtle perfume, great intensity and purity in the mouth, medium body, and a sweet, generous, authoritative yet elegant personality.'
