lways on the cutting edge and looking towards the future, Duckhorn Vineyards is producing a delicious Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley. The first release from this exciting new winery "Goldeneye," (a member of the duck family, of course) is a wine with aromas of forward black cherry and blackberry fruit, toasty oak and smokey spice. Ripe flavors of black cherry, raspberry and plum fruit dominate the palate. The tannin structure is soft and balanced with a lingering finish of toasted oak and vanilla. It is barrel-fermented in 100% new French oak where it spent 18 months. |
