Weekly Tasting

Auramaris Vermentino 2014 Maremma Toscana
Brilliant yellow with light golden reflexes, Auramaris has perfumes of fruit with strong varietal notes of apple, pear and bitter almond. In the lightly herbaceous, mineral and slightly salty character one can perceive the helping hand of the Grechetto. The taste is harmonic and fresh and its acidity perfectly balanced with fullness and roundness of taste. The minerality is remarkable and typical of the Mediterranean terrain that is home to this wine.
Esterhazy 2016 Gruner Veltliner
A hint of lemon and yeast leads the nose of this wine. Its light-footed palate brings in more yeasty savoriness and texture before ample lemon zest flavors kick in with appetizing freshness. This has concentration and light-heartedness in equal and abundant measure.
Le Duc Noir 2016 Pinot Noir
This 100% Pinot Noir presents a rich red in the glass. The nose is Burgundian in style, with notes of smoke and leather integrating gracefully with cranberry, dried cherry and plum skin. This Russian River based Pinot Noir greets your palate with pomegranate, tart red fruits, Herbes de Provence and hints of cassis, black cardamom and black tea. This wine has a spreading, full body with a long, lingering finish.
The Paring 2014 Red Blend
Utterly fascinating nose mixing lifted black fruit, savory green herbs and dark notes of grilled bread, espresso and anise. Fills the palate with bright red fruit and black plum. A constant play between sweet and savory. Gentle and dusty tannins lead the way into an incredibly long and precise finish. Mulberry sweetness and a wonderful tension between tannic structure and bright acidity. Balanced and refined
American Vintage 2015 Zinfandel Petite Sirah Blend
This rich, dark, dense wine presents as dark purple-red in the glass. The bold, jammy, ripeness of the Zinfandel is well balanced with the blue-black notes of the Petite Sirah. On the nose, you are greeted with the essence of blackberry pie, black cherry, graphite and a hint of herbaceousness. On the palate, this wine is inky and thick while maintaining brightness and balance. Notes of marionberry, bramble and a hint of black pepper coat your mouth in an assertive, rich and lingering way.
Capture 2012 Alliance red wine
Invokes the nature of the adventurous explorer, showcasing lesser-known mountain vineyards and bringing them to life. Captivating elements that are both delicate and robust, this wine comes from our mountain vineyard high upon Spring Mountain in Napa Valley, with elevations ranging from 1,100 to 1,900 feet. Crafted in the muscular spirit of left-bank Bordeaux, this red wine blend reveals perfumed notes of fresh violet and blackberry that culminate in a distinctive, silky finish with elegant, smooth tannins. This is made from a majority Cabernet Sauvignon, with 11% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. This makes for a softly layered tease of cinnamon, cedar and brush, with the tannins dry and grippy. Black licorice and violet dot the nose and palate.
